A nice day for a stroll… 'Tips Beach' Esperance

Yesterday I had the pleasure of going for a walk along a beach that I had never stepped foot in the almost 14 years I've been here – ‘Tips Beach’ as known to some locals. A quick online search didn’t show me an actual name for the beautiful stretch of sand, so ‘Tips Beach’ is what I shall refer to it as.

As I am anything but a 4wd-er I wandered along the little beaches joining Bandy Creek to ‘Tips Beach’, stumbling across plenty of pig face flowers and other colourful little flower buds. Two cars were all we saw, which makes a unique difference to the busy-ness of Wylie Bay. It was so peaceful and to be able to take in Esperance from a new perspective was breathtaking. With it only being a short walk between point A and B, it would be easy to access again, without a vehicle, with a bag of relaxing goodies to set up and spend a decent chunk of time.

What was even more special, was taking it in with a good friend and her kids. The awe of discovering seashells and crab claws with them brought back beautiful memories of days when my own kids enjoyed that stuff, pre teenage hormones and attitude. The joy of exploring somewhere new and spending time in the great outdoors, just for the sake of it was the relaxing time out that I needed. I have also just learnt that somewhere along the beach there is a shipwreck that unearths every now and then, definitely a reason to head back out there again and keep exploring one of the many beautiful beaches that we have in our gorgeous town.
