Esperance living - a coffee and a beach, makes life sweet!!

Esperance coffee shops are like beaches, everyone, quite defensively, has their favourites, and the reasons vary immensely. So, when a coffee lover comes to visit, who has not only drunk their way through parts of Europe exploring coffee’s finest, but also spent time living on spectacular islands, what is one to do? Naturally, one orders coffee from their favourite café and takes their visitor to their favourite beach.

For me, a café is all about the vibe and atmosphere of the drinking space. Staff, décor and the overall buzz of the customers draw me in the minute I step foot in the door. For me, it’s Cloud 11. The cute little hug mugs capture my heart each time I hold them between my palms. With each mouthful of coffee, it warms my soul even further.

However, my coffee loving visitor wasn’t quite as taken as me. So on to Breakaway it was, with a positive outcome this time. The coffee received a thumbs up while I enjoyed looking around at the cute gift items which conveniently prompted thoughts of Christmas presents.

I must admit that out of all the coffee establishments here, my ultimate favourite would have to be Coffee Cat. For me, it’s my ‘escape’ coffee, escaping town on a road trip, escaping work on a day off or escaping kids and writing at the foreshore. So many incredibly positive experiences have been enhanced by either a hot or cold mocha.

Beaches, like cafés, have vibes and the creation of positive experiences draw you back time and time again. For me, it’s Eleven Mile. It’s where I would escape to early on summer mornings and developed a love of snorkeling, it’s where I would take the kids to when they were younger to swim in the calm waters, it’s also where I would spend time with a book while the kids were off exploring rock pools. For me, it’s where I bonded with the kids and taught them the cleansing powers of the crisp, salty water. I’d be there every day if I lived closer. What made this trip especially sweet was that my visitor joined us for a swim, froze his butt off, but enjoyed it nonetheless!!

This summer, I want to be able to find more places to snorkel around Esperance, but I feel I need to tag along with others that know where to find the best places and the hidden gems 😊
