Me Before You - Jojo Moyes

A heart wrenching story that had me sitting on the edge of my seat from the beginning. I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I picked up this novel, I was drawn to it for reasons I was unsure of at the beginning.

It was while I was reading that I worked out why...

This novel was as much about the hero as it was about the heroine. Will Traynor and Louisa Clark, make a formidable pair whose deep respect and admiration for one another is not revealed until the final pages.

Each have their own unique set of life challenges, Will, a quadriplegic, understandably struggles on a daily basis, requiring round the clock assistance. Whereas, Lou, comes to terms with her changes in work, love and acceptance of the unthinkable. Her fear of failure keeps her going until the very end, and even then, it spurs her towards a future that she never pictured for herself.

A tear jerker for both happiness and sadness, tissues are highly recommended.

Lou's journey continues in another two books, yet unread. Me After You and Still Me and Me Before You is also a movie starring Sam Claflin and Emilia Clarke as the leading pair, a movie which I am soon to watch once I restock the tissues.
